Paradigm 2012

Come December and the hallowed halls of IISWBM are abuzz with the word ‘Paradigm’. The word Paradigm means ‘example serving as a model’ or ‘archetype’. Paradigm is an example of how the past can cohabit with the present for a better future. It is the ideal set by the Alumni for their juniors to follow.

Every year, we the students of MBA (Day) Dept. of IISWBM, host PARADIGM - The Annual Alumni Meet of the MBA (DAY) Department. It is a gala get-together where the alumni of the first B-school in India get to hobnob with the young blood, relive their past experiences, and share their success stories. It is a gathering of people drawn from virtually every sector of Indian Business. It is a platform for the current batches to interact with the alumni who are the building pillars of IISWBM, who have acquired great heights of success in the corporate sector and held high the name of the institution in the business world.

This year, Paradigm 2012 was organized on the 15th of December 2012 at The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The event was inaugurated by our honorable and respected director Prof. D.K.Sanyal and esteemed professor and Head of the Department of MBA (Day), Dr. S.K.Mallick.

This was followed by an Alumni Speak session where the alumni shared their wonderful experiences and relived treasured memories of their days in IISWBM. Fun games kept the spirit of interaction alive and added more fun and excitement to the evening. There were also attractive prizes to be won courtesy Oriflame Cosmetics.

The inauguration session was followed by a drinks and dinner and dance party at The Palladian Lounge. The dance floor witnessed the alumni and the current students letting their hair down to enjoy the foot tapping music belted out by DJ Rimi. Finally the event came to a grand finish with a lucky draw and an opportunity to win bumper prizes sponsored by Re-feel and Red FM.

Paradigm 2012 was the ideal platform for the alumni to reconnect with their alma mater and their batch-mates and to relive the nostalgia of those magnificent years of growth, learning, enjoyment and transformation. The alumni themselves find themselves back to the cradle from where their journey started. Some of them say that it is that nostalgia of meeting old friends and mentors that brings them back to Paradigm every year. For the professors who have the task of incubating talent, it is an ecstatic moment of watching saplings grows into trees.
